Beautiful country chic curio cabinet

Beautiful country chic curio cabinet, from an old gun cabinet.

This barn find was a homemade gun cabinet from the early 70's.

We added the chippy paint bead boards to make the back, added shelves and the top molding. Added the chicken wire and corner bracing and cross bar to give the screen door effect, finishing it off with a vintage glass knob. Painted the  exterior antique white, distressed and waxed then added a Graphic Fairy image to the bottom drawer and glass knobs.

Spool top table with treadle base

30" industrial spool top table with vintage sewing machine treadle base.

We took a 30" spool top and cut off one side to make it fit against a wall better. The cut off piece was re-attached to the back, creating a back splash. The treadle base is a vintage very rare Farm and Ranch branded base. The two pieces just go together so naturally.

The Appleby's tables

We were contacted by a repeat  customers the Appleby family. They were just getting ready to move into a new house and they wanted to see if we could help with a new dining table and chairs, plus a couple side tables to go with the other pieces that they have from us. Of course we were happy to help them and design something that would add the Appleby touch to the new home.

The first thing that we tackled were the dinning chairs (all six of them) that were a perfect match for a tired farm table that we had found a few years ago.

Each chair was had the seat taken off and was completely sanded, then stained and several coats of polyurethane were applied.

On the table it presented it's own set of challenges, due to the fact that it had been in the barn awaiting it's time in the sun that one of the legs had rotted at the bottom. So we had to get all 4 legs made and the rest was sanded down and made ready for image transfer and staining.

For the image we made a custom one to show the establishment the Appleby family.

Here is the table and chairs in their new home.

Below are the other Appleby's tables from the 3 Spurz, so far.

Refurbished coffee table with heat transfer image

We took a coffee table that has seen better days and breathed new life into it.

Adding the shabby chic white legs and base brought back the spark to this french provincial style coffee table. The image from the Graphic Fairy gave it that je ne sais quoi.
