Awesome Custom Bar

This is one of the rare times that you get to do what you love for customers that share the same vision (or are willing to trust your vision).

So this is the email that we received from Allison and Kate, Message : We've seen some of your work and really like your use of reclaimed materials. We have a couple of pieces of furniture we are looking for (a bar cabinet and media stand). After some emails back and forth, they wanted to come buy and see if they could find something that spoke to them. We were given full creative licence to make what we thought would fit their vision.

So, we started on the bar. The biggest issue is the space restrictions that we had to work with 15" x 34.5" with 9 foot ceilings. So we knew that we needed to go vertical. They asked for wine bottle storage and an enclosed area for the glass ware. We settled on an old footlocker for the glass ware storage and a reclaimed barn beam for the spine and a butcher block top for the shelf. Everything else was up in the air and would need to be found. And as luck would have it, we were able to find some vintage crates in all different sizes and shapes that would complete the vision.
a few of the pieces, that would go to create the bar

and this is the finished bar

let me point out the features. The upper left, is a picture of the dual USB ports that we added, with the night light with three adjustable brightness settings located under the top wine rack inside the upright crate. The foot locker was cut in the front and fitted with a custom made window. the interior has a map of the great state of Texas decoupaged to all the walls, a wine glass rack on the top with 2 shelves, lit with led strips with remote on/off and modes. The exterior has the vintage travel labels added to give it the look of world travel. The bar sign is made of wine bottle corks mounted on a cut down vintage expanded metal door. The smaller create has a heat transfer with Allison & Kate's names to create a wine label. There are also vintage travel labels behind another expanded metal door piece.

Kate & Allison were thrilled with the finished product. Here is what they had to say " We made good use of the bar cabinet yesterday for our Memorial Day cookout. We are definitely the envy of the neighborhood ;)"

So, off to finish the media cart, and we will be posting pictures as soon as that is done.
