Someone ask us if we wanted to take the remains of a glass display cabinet, after a customer broke the top piece of glass.
The cost to replace the glass top was too high, so he just wanted to get rid of it. We were happy to take it off of his hands, so we removed all the remaining glass and loaded it up. The drawers all had locks but no keys, so we pulled the locks and took them to a local locksmith. We did luck out and all the locks were keyed the same.
For the top we added a new piece and the same type for the shelf underneath. These drawers were on the backside of the display cabinet and were used to store items that were in the display (the customer did not see the drawers normally). We added the pipe legs and lettering on the drawer fronts.

This is one of those pieces that speaks to you. That is, we picked up this trunk lid for a 1965 Impala a couple of years ago. It had the look and we know that it would be a great piece, but as what? I had walked past this trunk in the barn so many times and then one day it spoke to me, "I'm a console table".
So, here is my interpretation of a 1965 Impala SS trunk lid console table. I cut the trunk and used the other part for a back and added shelves. The taillights are lite with LED's that are on a remote that lets you make them blink and brighten or dim. The base is all custom made hand bent flat bar. There is a surge protector mounted underneath, so you have a place to plug in your phone charger. This is the ultimate man cave statement piece for a car guy.

Cedar console table with cast iron base. this one started life as a cedar chest lid and adjustable cast iron legs.
The base is native Texas cedar and the removable expanded metal grates are fitted into a rabbet cut into the face. The whole table is on new wheels for easy movement.
Custom TV console created with pallet wood and custom hand made hardware.
The barn doors are made from used pallet wood and hand bent flat bar for handles and door hangers. The doors are 16.5" wide x 28.5" tall and can be moved to any position.
The overall dimensions of the piece are 72" wide x 16.5" deep x 37" tall and it has 4 metal casters for easy movement.
This is the empty shell of a once prized mid century flat glass front General Electric TV that we found at a closed TV repair shop.
So we decided to breath life back into this old piece and let it do what it did for years "entertain people", but this time as a bar.
We removed the panel that held the knobs and added a wine glass rack. Then we had to add a shelf that would hold the beverages, and covered it with cork.
The front glass was removed and hinges with magnetic push latch for easy access. Then LED lighting was added to the interior to help showcase your private selection. Of course the TV had to have a remote control again, but this time it controls those LED's.

Vintage crate that we turned into a rustic console table, with pipe legs and shelf.
This is the pair of great old crates that we picked up at a local estate sale. The one on the right was used for a custom bar we made See bar here. The crate on the left will become this great console.
Here is the final product. The shelf was from a stack of closet shelves we bought form another estate sale. The pipe and fittings are all new with no coating, so the new owner can decide if they want to let them rust or they want to seal them and keep the black.
The measurements ended up being 32" tall over 6 feet long and 10" deep. This would be a great display for a business, entry way or couch console table.

We started with an old truck bed, and a table top made from old farm boards.
The bed was cut and the wood boards for the be floor are from and old bed frames rails. The support under it is from some cedar beams, with some dinning table leaves. The whole thing is on steel wheels. The tailgate opens and there is storage with a shelf inside.
Here is a picture of the console in it's new home. As you can see the taillights light up with led lighting. It was a perfect fit and the customers were very delighted.
